Your pump will be fully rebuilt and will exceed OEM pressure specs by at least 5%. Three years warranty, and you get a pump that is better inside than a new one.
Audi part numbers 8H0 871 611D, 8H0959247B, or similar version (D and B are examples of revision used on the A4, which are all interchangeable - they could also be version A, B, C, or E).

Is your convertible top not moving at all, and the pump motor is not running, although you hear the relays clicking next to the pump? This is the most common convertible top pump failure symptom for your Audi .
If you or your mechanic have diagnosed a bad pump motor, or your dealer told you that you need a new pump motor p/n 8H0959247B (or 8H0959247A or 8H0959755A - they interchange), we can rebuild and upgrade your pump to exceed factory specs for a fraction of the price of a new replacement. If you want to eliminate even the chance that there is a problem with the valve block (the part that all hoses go into - it has three brass colored solenoids on it), then this product listed here is your best choice. It includes the pump with motor (p/n 8H0959247B or 8H0959247A - they interchange) PLUS the valve block attached, which makes this Audi p/n 8HO871611D with the assembly looking as pictured.
Top Hydraulics fully rebuilds and tests your pump before sending it to you. We don't just look for a single fault until we have found it, as a backyard mechanic would do, but we fully disassemble the pump, replace and upgrade every seal, and going through every component of the pump. This includes service and repairs to the electric motor, upgrade of some motor components, resealing of the pump unit, full test of all internal valves and all three-way solenoid valves, inspection of all pump components such as pistons and impellers (replacement if they are not to spec), and extensive testing for output pressure, output flow, long term performance, and thermal behavior. We keep the tolerances so tight that no pump will ship without at least exceeding factory pressure specs by 5%. We always replace the motor's brushes - sanding or filing down swollen brushes would only be a short term solution and our purpose is to make parts at least as good as new on the inside, plus give some performance enhancing tweaks and eliminate weak spots in the original design.
Top Hydraulics gives you a three-year warranty on the pump rebuld. Unless we are shipping internationally, where liquids are under high scrutiny, Top Hydraulics will ship the pump filled with fluid and plugged at the fluid ports.
Removal of the pump from the car is easy. Remove the trim panel in the right corner of the trunk to create access. Then unplug the wiring harness, unbolt the pump frame from the chassis (three 13-mm hex nuts), and remove the hoses from the pump.
To remove the hoses from the pump, you simply remove the three 5-mm hex bolts in the manifold plate (the aluminum plate that fastens the hoses to the valve block), pull a little on each individual hose, and then pull all hoses together out of the pump. There will not be a big mess, and all hoses stay confined to the manifold plate, so you need not worry about them getting mixed up...
It is advisable to flush your hydraulic system before you install your freshly rebuilt pump with the new fluid in it. Simply cycle your top and the storage cover manually while the pump is disconnected from the valve block (put a waste container under the valve block). One manual cycle without fluid getting back into the reservoir will expell over 95% of the fluid remaining in the system, which is good enough. Your Audi Cabriolet hydraulics are self-venting. As soon as you have a proper fluid level in the pump's reservoir, the pump can operate again. Air from the cylinders will be expelled back into the reservoir - you will have to top off the reservoir once or twice. While there is air in your cylinders, the top and the storage cover will move down faster than usual. Try to catch them by hand a little the first few times, or simply let go of the convertible top button once they start picking up speed. Almost all air will be out of the system after five cycles. Allow the electric motor to cool down between cycles - it is not made to operate continuously for extended periods.
Cleanliness is very important while dealing with your hydraulic system. Do not allow any dirt to enter the system, and use the proper fluid. For hydraulic fluid, either use Audi fluid, or Mercedes fluid p/n A0009899103, or FeBi 02615, Pentosin CHF202, or Pentosin CHF-11S (or Aral Vitamol in Europe). All these fluids will mix. FeBi 02615 is your least expensive alternative, without any compromise in quality, and with the least offensive odor.

We get excellent rates from FedEx on account of the high volume shipped daily, and this is reflected in the low shipping charge from us to you. The return shipment is your responsibility - you may want to shop for the lowest rates.
Please be sure to drain the pump of all fluid before sending it to us. Wrap in absorbent material and a plastic bag, and buffer the parcel well inside. Feel free to remove the sheet metal mounting bracket from the pump, so that you can easily fit the pump into a Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Box.

FedEx International Priority
For Customs clearance, you must declare a value on the package you are sending us. Please note: parcels with a declared value under US$750 enter the US without incurring taxes, duties or clearance fees. Considering that you are sending us broken parts for repair, it is most reasonable to declare a value under US$750. You can insure your parcel only up to the amount that has been declared as the value for customs, so your best insurance is good packaging. It is extremely rare that parts get lost on the way to us.
Please be sure to drain or cycle all fluid out of your parts, then wrap them in plastic, so that the parcel does not get soaked in oil. It is generally a good practice to double box pumps or sets of cylinders because heavy parcels take quite a beating in international transit unless you are using a premium carrier such as FedEx. Clearly, you don't want to just stick a part into a cardboard envelope without any further protection or buffering. Buffer your parcel well inside so that parts don't rattle around or the parcel gets crushed from others on top of it. Ideally, tape all around all surfaces of the parcel, which generally provides excellent protection against losing components that are trying to escape through small holes in the cardboard.
We use FedEx International Priority for almost all outbound international shipments, as they tend to offer the fastest and most secure service. Due to our shipping volumes, our rates for return shipping your parts via FedEx International Priority are typically equal to or cheaper than Postal Service. We cannot offer shipping labels for your shipment from you to us - you will have to shop around for the best option to ship your parts to us.
In the rare event that you feel you have to declare a value over US$750 on your parcel shipping to us, please understand that we will need to be reimbursed for any importation fees or duties incurred. You agree to this by accepting our terms and conditions when you place your order. On high value parcels, we are typically charged an Entry Prep Fee (currently about $25) plus 2.5% tax on the declared value of the package, there are oftentimes delays in customs, and it can take a while for us to receive the actual customs invoice.
Depending on the parts you are sending us, your customs declaration might say "hydraulic cylinder for repair" or "hydraulic pump" for repair. Please note that DHL does not like to carry hydraulic parts or used car parts in some countries. If your carrier asks for the "harmonized code or tariff" of the parts you are shipping, those are 841221 for linear actuators (cylinders) and 841360 for pumps.

Unless stated otherwise, there is a 3 year warranty on all new and remanufactured parts provided by Top Hydraulics. This warranty is transferable. All parts manufactured or rebuilt by Top Hydraulics have unique markings, so there is no additional paperwork needed to transfer a warranty. The warranty does not cover labor, direct or consequential damages. The warranty is void when the parts have been abused or have been installed incorrectly, or when brake fluid or stop-leak additives have contaminated your hydraulic system..
You will have to send your failed part(s) back to Top Hydraulics for a warranty evaluation. In the extremely rare case of failure on rebuilds or new parts shipped or provided by Top Hydraulics, Top Hydraulics' warranty covers only parts and is limited to rebuilding the products previously shipped by Top Hydraulics, or replacing them, or refunding the rebuild fee at Top Hydraulics' discretion. If the failure was our fault, then we will refund reasonable shipping costs, as well.
